Mero Pyaro Okhaldhunga
Mero Pyaro Okhaldhunga, literally translated as "My Beloved Okhaldhunga", is the poem composed by Siddhi Charan Shrestha. This poem is considered to be one of his masterpieces. In this poem, he has expressed how proud he is to describe the place Okhaldhunga, where he had spent his childhood days.
In the beauty of your greenery and in the coolness of your heart, this poet's childhood has been spent. Laughing, playing, and travelling in the forest; O my beloved Okhaldhunga!
Riding the boat of feelings, I sail through the beloved Ganga of remembrance (of my childhood days). From the sky of dreams, the cool rain of sweet thoughts drips down; O my beloved Okhaldhunga!
Holding the fringe of Spring, nature might have been searching me. Baby deers been jumping around, and climbers in the tree might have been moving along with the movement of fresh air of Spring; O my beloved Okhaldhunga!
Those laborious and ever shedding leaves and the fast-moving wind, as if like a continuous flowing waterfall, might have been wandering along the forests searching the mark of my feet to find my way; O my beloved Okhaldhunga!
Tamakoshi and Sunkoshi, along with river Rosi which flows piercing through the hills; these rivers ever purify the picture of your scenic beauty in my heart; O my beloved Okhaldhunga!
Sailing through the waves of fate, how did I reach this desert-like place (this represents dry land of cities devoid of greenery)? But I do not have regret, for your figure (beauty and love) is written throughout this heart; O my beloved Okhaldhunga!
